Phillips Education Center of Campbellsville University
At Phillips Education Center of Campbellsville University, we offer a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy that is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and approved by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS). Our program provides students with a unique blend of academic, personal & professional learning opportunities, designed to educate well-rounded mental health practitioners who are skilled in all aspects required in their field of choice. Our experientially-based academic program offers a small class size, professional faculty & curricula designed to help foster future clinicians.
Our signature course, Case Conference, is where students observe actual therapy sessions conducted by a licensed therapist from behind a one-way mirror. This course begins in the first term of the program and introduces students to real world psychotherapy practice, first as observers, then as co-therapists. It provides a hands-on training experience within a small group, which meets once a week.
Through role plays and modeling, students learn communication principles and basic counseling skills that they will need as they begin to see their own clients in practicum. Our curriculum is carefully designed as an integrated experience, where students’ participation will reflect the same foundational concepts that are being presented in their first year of academic courses.
